Chris and Sasha Holloway of Kingwood started the performing artscompany Opera Leggera several years ago to present a concert series in NorthHouston that would present exciting classic concerts that have become thequality entertainment enjoyed by entire families. Both Chris and Sasha haveperformed with some of the major opera companies in America and abroad.
“Our music careers brought us together when Chris andI were performing with the New Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, Israel” saidSasha , “we always talked about starting a venue of concerts that wouldshowcase some of the most beloved music of the world.
“We presented our ideas to the Nathaniel center and theyhave been supporting our efforts to bring choice music to the public eversince,” Chris added.
Most recently the Nathaniel Center hosted the Opera Leggeraconcert “Winter Fantasia” and assisted them to bring the gloriousmusic of Christmas to standing room only crowds.
Those that have attended Opera Leggera’s concerts have had theopportunity to experience a musical extravaganza that includes a dramaticstoryline laced with the musical beauty of song. Mr. B.D. Baker of Conroestated, “My wife and I recently spent a most delightful evening at theNathaniel Center in Kingwood. Musical Reflections, a production of OperaLeggera, was a truly wonderful portrait of the sounds of the world’s most lovedoperas, musicals, and yes, movies too.
As we sat and listened to world class tenor sing Casablanca’s”As Time Goes By,” one must wonder – did the movie make the songfamous or was it the other way around? I’d like to think it was a little ofboth. It was a very inspirational moment followed by an impressive array ofarias, duets, quartets, amusing and moving as well. The entire company of OperaLeggera is a “best foot forward” in the world of musical endeavor.Thank you, Chris and Sasha and all the company for a most satisfying evening.”
