May daughter’s wedding was held on June 16, 2012. We had the reception at The Nathaniel Center. Ruth Holloway is the Events Manager there and worked with us from July 2011 until the event.
She was amazing! From the beginning, she made us feel comfortable and at ease with our decision to have the wedding reception at The Nathaniel Center. She showed us previous events that had taken place there and gave us a clear vision as to what our options were and the costs associated with each upgrade.
Ruth kept us assured of a smooth event, which is exactly what nervous parents need when they are anxious about spending so much on a lifetime celebration. She answered questions, to questions we didn’t even know to ask! It is obvious, that her experience and knowledge of the venue is extensive and she is honest with her opinions as to what is best for your particular affair.
Ruth not only has an amazing persoanlity, which allows us to work with her as if she is an old friend but she listens and takes notes extensively, so on the day of the affair, our requests were met to the very last detail! She obviously does a complete oversee after the last vendor has been set up, to check for any imperfections. In our case, our linen vendor was not of the highest quality, and Ruth took the time to do whatever touch-ups were necessary to make it all look like perfection! (Yes, Ruth tried to warn us, but we had already signed with another linen company … our fault, not hers!!)
Ruth has made herself accessible to us for the many, many questions we had over the 11 month planning period. Her patience with us was outstanding! At one point, we came in all upset because we thought we would have many more people attending than for what we had originally arranged. Ruth immediatley calmed us and showed how that could be easily accommodated. We left with our stress totally metlted away!
I will (and already have) recommend Ruth and The Nathaniel Center (they go hand-in-hand) for any major event to all of my friends and family. Much to Ruth’s credit, our daughter’s wedding reception was flawless and we have wonderful memoires of a perfect evening!!

We wish to thank The Nathaniel Center for our perfect anniversary party. With the help of Ruth Holloway, Events Manager, we were blessed with the elegent dining we wanted.
We had soft background music, lovely linens, gorgeous flowers, and delicious food from Italiano’s and a fabulous cake from Virginia’s Cakes.
Our friends and family had an unforgettable evening. There were many photo opportunities and we took advantage of them all.
