About Texas Hold’em

Texas Hold’em is a popular form of poker that originated in Texas.  The town of Robstown has been officially credited for its inception.  Since its origins at the turn of the twentieth century, the popularity has spread worldwide.

Rather than losing it all on a hand of poker as with Draw poker, in Texas Hold’em the objective is to accrue points over a series of hands.

Draw poker, you bet only twice; hold ’em, you bet four times. That meant you could play strategically. This was more of a thinking man’s game.
